As I mentioned in my debrief for Q1 of this year, I’m wired to be motivated by the future and that hasn’t changed even when the coming weeks and months are a bit uncertain.

Now that we’re transitioning into the third quarter of the year, I wanted to take a moment to recognize some “wins” from quarter two and lay out some goals that I’ll be working toward in the coming months.

First, the wins:

I started practicing yoga every day. Starting in April, I began to practice yoga every day and I fell in love with it. I’m now three months into my daily yoga practice and I’m really enjoying trying out new poses and learning about the history and philosophy of yoga (more on that below).

I enrolled in a course on somatic coaching. In addition to facilitating coach training, recording more episodes of Coach to Coach, reading, reflecting, and taking on new and different clients, I also started a course on somatic coaching back in April. This course is focused on ways to bring embodied practices into coaching and it’s been a great learning experience.

I joined a yoga teacher training (YTT) program to deepen my own yoga practice. Remember how I said I fell in love with yoga? I decided to deepen my practice by enrolling in an online 200-hour yoga teacher training program so that I could learn more about anatomy and physiology and all kinds of other nerdy yoga facts. I started this program in mid-June and it will run through September.

I launched Blend by Design. May was full of course design as I pulled together a new product on blended teaching and learning. It launched on June 1 and it’s been so fun to welcome new participants into this course! I’m so proud of this product and how it’s helping people plan for social distancing in response to COVID-19.

And now for my Q3 goals. As I look ahead to wrapping up the summer and the transition into fall, here is what I plan to be focusing on:

Finish my course on somatic coaching and my YTT program. Each of these learning experiences will wrap up in August and September, respectively, so I should be able to finish both in Q3. I have weekly meetings for each one as well as readings and homework to complete for both programs, so it will be a busy few months to squeeze it all in!

Practice crow pose and be able to do it unassisted. While yoga isn’t all about mastering poses, I am setting some goals for myself to ensure that I’m strengthening certain muscle groups as I grow my yoga practice. I’ll be focusing on crow as a beginning inversion that will really help me strengthen my arm and ab muscles. (Never heard of crow? Watch this video to learn more.)

Redesign my coach training website. I’d like to move my coach training website to a separate domain and just link it from drkatielinder.com, so that will involve some website design work in Q3. I’m looking forward to figuring out how to organize all the information about my coach training program on the new site so that I can get it launched before the next round of enrollment marketing starts in Q4.

Get back to reading fun books. In Q2, I read a lot of non-fiction that I enjoyed, but I also missed reading novels. I’d like to get back to reading more fiction in this next quarter. (Come find me on Goodreads so we can share book recommendations!)

What are some of your wins from Q2? What are you prioritizing in Q3 of 2020?
