Next week, I’m looking forward to taking the week off of work. It’s my institution’s spring break, which means a much slower week that a lot of other people also take to be away from the office. And, as usual, I have some plans of what I’m hoping to accomplish during my time away from work.

Here are some of the things I plan to give my time and attention to:

  1. Add more words to my current book project. This is my number one priority for the week. It’s been a while since I’ve taken several days in a row to devote to writing (the last time was over the summer), and I’m excited to see how far I can get. I’ve been thinking about this project leading up to the break and I have a lot of ideas for what I want to write about.
  2. Buy new running shoes. I need to find a local running store and go try on some different options for running shoes. I’ve been feeling a craving to run more and so I may try to build in a couple short jogs into this week as well.
  3. Go to an indoor climbing gym. I don’t normally have a lot of open time in my schedule, so I’m planning to check this annual goal off my list over this spring break week when I have more open days. I’m excited to try this out and see what I think of the experience.
  4. Declutter and drop off donations. I have a donation pile that’s been piling up, so I’d like to go through my closet one more time and then get that donation pile dropped off at our local thrift store.
  5. Read. A lot. I have some pretty ambitious reading goals for March (see my TBR pile video here) so I’m definitely going to be building in some reading time during this week. I love to end a writing day with reading, so I’m anticipating some really relaxing evening reading sessions on most days. I’d also love to carve out one entire day to binge read several books in a row.
  6. Stay on track with sleep and workouts. I’ve been consistently working out every morning for the last couple of months, so I plan to keep that going during this week and maybe even work ahead on some of my March movement goals. I’d also love to not set an alarm in the morning and to fit in a couple of naps this week as well.

Stay tuned for a debrief of my spring break progress in next week’s blog post!
