My July To-Do List

by | Jun 27, 2026 | Blog, Lists and Planning, Monthly To-Do Lists

Several years back, I began to write monthly to-do lists to help me keep track of what’s on my plate on a different time scale than days or weeks. I share these lists here, and report back each month on what I was able to accomplish.

Here is an update on what I got done in the last month:

  • Launched the June coach training cohort. I offer onboarding into my ICF-accredited Higher Ed Coach Training program twice a year in January and June, so the second cohort of 2026 launched this past month. It was so fun to welcome the new cohort members into the program!
  • Completed a check-in on my 2026 goals. With June marking the halfway point of the year, it meant it was time for another check in on my (many) annual goals. I’m really having a ball moving a bunch of things forward, and I appreciated this time of reflection and planning for the second half of the year.
  • Prepared for my Restful July period. Every year, I take a break from the podcast and blog in July so that I can rest up before the remainder of the year. I’ve loved this tradition, and I was able to give some thought to how best to spend the time that I usually devote to content creation (more on my July plans below).
  • Binge read a long-running mystery series. Over time, I’ve collected all the books in the Elvis Cole and Joe Pike series, which follows a couple of private detectives in Los Angeles as they are solving different crimes. I have this series on my 26 Series for 2026 list and in June I was able to complete all the books in the series!

June was a mix of work and rest and now it’s time to plan for a new month of to-do items! I’m ready to launch into July and see what this next month of the year will bring.

Here are some of the items on my July to-do list:

  • Complete a work transition. We have had some re-organization happening across my institution that has also impacted my role and teams. I’ll share more on this soon, but there are a lot of moving pieces happening this summer and I’ll be involved in helping to shepherd different parts and pieces of the transition.
  • Submit an application to become a certified mentor coach. The ICF recently changed some requirements for mentor coaching and they are now requiring that mentor coaches complete a certification process. I think that I can get all the components of this completed relatively quickly, so I’ll be working toward that this month.
  • Start a 10k training program on Peloton. One of my goals this year was to run a 10k distance. I’d like to start upping my mileage in July and see how far I can get by the end of the summer. I’ve had good luck with Peloton training plans in the past, so I’m looking forward to launching into this one.
  • Practice restful yoga. I love restorative yoga, Yin yoga, and Yoga Nidra practices, so I want to devote some time to those this month. My annual “Restful July” ritual seems like the perfect time to build this in (and it will be great as recovery from my running time).

It’s going to be another full month! What are you looking forward to in the month of July?
